14 мая Палата представителей Уругвая единогласно (74 голоса из 74 присутствующих депутатов) проголосовала за законопроект, объявляющий 24 апреля Днем памяти жертв Геноцида армян. Законопроект обязывает все государственные теле- и радиоканалы ежегодно 24 апреля освещать тему Геноцида армян.
